Kinder Care

Our pilot project afternoon Kindergarten program is aimed to support children during their transition from preschool into kindergarten.

Our emergent-based curriculum will strive to guide children in a way that builds confidence, independence, and familiarity with kindergarten and other school routines, as well as navigating peer relationships and expressing self-identity. Through a mix of play-based and structured activities based on children’s interests and abilities, children are challenged in age and developmentally appropriate ways that will extend what they are learning at school.

Our program supplements classroom and community learning by strengthening social skills, early literacy, and numeracy. Our goal is to help children feel capable and independent, curious, and excited about their learning journey all while having fun in a safe and nurturing environment.

Ages 4.5-5.5

Proposed hours will be 12:00-3:15 (Times may change depending on Maple Ridge)

Children who are enrolled but not registered at Maple Ridge School, will meet educators at the classroom, around 12:20 based on the school bell and group’s walking time. These children are encouraged to also arrive with their lunch in order to participate with the group’s routine.
